“We would love to start a platform for spotlighting the incredible people organisations and work that deserves to be recognised in our community at the NAIDOC Ball.
“If you have any First Nations individuals or organisations who deserve to be recognised, please see the link below and share and the Shire of East Pilbara will be proud to acknowledge those community members or organisations throughout the celebrations.”
This year's theme celebrates the unyielding spirit of First Nations communities including our Marble Bar, Warralong, Gooda Binya Nullagine, Irrangadji, Jigalong, Punmu, Parnngurr and Kiwirrkurra and Kunawarratji and Newman residents. The fire represents the enduring strength and vitality of Indigenous cultures, passed down through generations despite the challenges faced. It is a symbol of connection to the land, to each other, and to the rich tapestry of traditions that define Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
"Blak, Loud and Proud" encapsulates the celebration of Indigenous identity, empowering us to stand tall in our heritage and assert our place in the modern world. This theme calls for a reclamation of narratives, an amplification of voices, and an unwavering commitment to justice and equality. For more details visit eastpilbara.wa.gov.au/events.
