Septic tanks and wash-down bays

The Shire's Environmental Health Department approves the installation of on-site effluent disposal systems at premises which are not currently serviced by the Water Corporation's main sewerage supply.

The principal legislation, which regulates the installation of onsite effluent disposal systems within the district, is the Health (Treatment of Sewage and Disposal of Effluent and Liquid Waste) Regulations 1974. The type of system required at a property depends on a number of factors.

For this reason please contact us to discuss your individual requirements.

An application form must be submitted with the appropriate fees:

  1.  Local government application fee (paid to local government): $118.00
