Newman Water Corporation Planned Works - 23 October 2017 to 30 January 2018

Water Corporation is undertaking a $1.75 million project to improve the reliability of the Newman Water Supply Scheme.

From 23 October, 2017 to 30 January, 2018, valves and fire hydrants will be installed in multiple locations within the Newman township. The additional hydrants will improve safety and fire response efforts in the town. The additional isolation valves will allow us to isolate smaller sections of the scheme and limit impact on customers, when repairing or replacing water infrastructure in the future.

Work will be on hold over the holiday period from Friday 15 December, resuming on Tuesday 9 January, 2018.

In some areas, open trench excavation will be used to complete the work and some customers will experience short water supply interruptions while we connect the new infrastructure to the system.

Water Corporation will undertake appropriate communication with its customers and stakeholders and use traffic management to minimise community impacts.

If you have any queries regarding the work, please contact David Hawkins, Water Corporation Specialist - Customer and Stakeholder on [email protected], or phone (08) 9195 5423.
