Impounded Animals
Under State Government Legislation, animals can be seized and impounded for many reasons; the main one being for wandering at large.
Dogs and Cats are impounded for their safety and wellbeing as well as to ensure the safety of the community.
If your dog or cat is impounded, you will have to pay a fee to recover it as well as the cost of caring for your animal. These fees must be paid prior to the animal being released.
If your dog and cat is not microchipped or registered it can not be released until both requirements are satisfied.
Rangers make all reasonable attempts to locate animal owners or rehome unclaimed animals.
If you have lost your dog or cat please follow the link below to see if your animal has been impounded.
