The Shire of East Pilbara hereby gives notice of its intention to temporarily close the following thoroughfare to vehicular traffic for the 2026 ANZAC Day Dawn Service. The closure is required to ensure the safe conduct of ANZAC Day Dawn Service and associated community activities.

The Shire of East Pilbara invites Tenders from registered building contractors who are suitably qualified and experienced to install repurposed container units on vacant land at the Yurlu Caravan Park, Newman, Western Australia. In addition, the Contracted Party shall be required to supply/install all supporting foundations, communal facilities, covered deck, fencing, driveway access, parking, external lighting and connecting services, to produce a turnkey product.

The Shire of East Pilbara advises that there will be a temporary road closure and altered traffic conditions on Saturday, 6 December, from 5:00pm to 9:00pm. This is to accommodate the Shire’s Christmas event taking place in Newman Town Square.

The Shire of East Pilbara and BHP would like to announce two major events coming to Newman: • BHP End of Year Event (Private Event): Saturday, 22 November 2025. • Party in the Park (Free Community Event): Sunday, 23 November 2025. Both events will be held at Kangaroo Oval, Fortescue Avenue, and will feature live music, rides, and entertainment.

The Shire of East Pilbara announces that a Concert on the Green events will take place on Saturday, 18 October 2025 from 6:00pm to 9:30pm at the Newman Fortescue Golf Club. This event is expected to draw around 250 residents and will feature live music from Riley Pearce.

The events are expected to draw around 500 residents over the duration of both events and will feature live music from the Sean Scott Trio and Riley Pearce.
